Brian,

Thanks so much for the quick reply.

As far as certification, I was thinking I could get the MCSE fairly quickly.
I thought it would be easiest to get the MCSA in SQL 2016 Database Development. Those are two exams I could pass pretty much right now.
761- Querying Data with Transact SQL
762- Developing SQL Databases
Then finish the MCSE with either:
473- Designing and Implementing Cloud Data Platform Solutions
or 775- Perform Data Engineering on Microsoft Azure HDInsight

That seems like something I could knock out in 45-60 days or so all 3 exams. I have already passed the 761 but for SQL 2012.

The other, more detailed and definitely more intensive course would be to get my certification in Azure. Perhaps get my MCSA in Data Engineering with Azure

That’s the following:
775- Perform Data Engineering on Microsoft Azure HDInsight
776- Perform Big Data Engineering on Microsoft Cloud Services

And then some other exam for my MCSE? Would it make more sense to go in this direction? This one would be pretty tough for me to do as I only have a cursory knowledge of Azure. But if that’s what they want, then I suppose I should go for it.

Which direction would you take?

Marcos
